Fiona joined Keystone as a partner in August 2020 and is based in Edinburgh, Scotland. She is an IP transactional lawyer with many years’ experience in working with a large range of clients across a number of sectors including life sciences, IT, software, engineering, consumer products and academia. In addition to advising blue chip companies and public bodies, Fiona advises growing SMEs, assisting them to enter new markets through licensing and other collaborative ventures. Fiona is highly experienced in international licensing transactions and has worked with many businesses in the life sciences sector, helping them to enter new markets using licensing and other collaborative ventures. Her work is often international, and she has worked with many clients who are based overseas.
Fiona is a recent Past President of the Licensing Executives Society International. She chairs the Law Society of Scotland’s accreditation panel for IP. Fiona is a past Chair of the IP section of Lex Mundi and Past President of the Licensing Executives Society (Britain and Ireland). Fiona is a founder and honorary Vice President of St. Andrews Clinics for Children.
Fiona is included in a number of legal/IP directories including: The Legal 500 2022 for Intellectual Property: Patents, Best Lawyers 2009-2022 for Information Technology and Intellectual Property, Transactions (IAM Patent), Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) IP Stars: Patent star, Transactions star, and Top 250 Women in IP, WIPR Leaders 2020, and included in the Managing Intellectual Property List of the ‘50 most influential people in IP’ in 2019. She also speaks regularly at international conferences and co-edited Getting the Deal Through – Licensing in 2018/19/20.
