Seventeen Professionals Earn CLP Credential During Fall Testing Window

Certified Licensing Professionals, Inc. (CLP) announced that 17 professionals who work in licensing, technology transfer and intellectual property management passed the Certified Licensing Professional exam and earned the credential during the 2020 fall testing window. Earning the CLP designation establishes credibility, demonstrates knowledge, and helps individuals practicing in the diverse field of licensing and technology transfer reach their personal and professional goals.

Hugh Spotswood supports certain franchises within Merck’s life science business (“MilliporeSigma” in North America) with the in- and out-licensing of tangible property and intellectual property rights. He works as part of project teams to negotiate and paper license agreements that enable the onboarding of new products, services and technologies or monetize IP and materials developed by Merck KGaA’s R&D teams. Pooja Bhatia, MBA, CLP, RTTP, is Chief Manager, Innovation-Technology Transfer Office (i-TTO) of the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) in New Delhi, India. Ms. Bhatia heads the i-TTO, a regional tech transfer office set up at FITT with support from National Biopharma Mission, a joint project of Government of India and World Bank, with the mandate to cater to academia, startups and incubation centres.

Dr. Mail initially earned the CLP credential in 2019 and is a member of the CLP Exam Development and Maintenance Committee, which is responsible for ongoing exam development efforts.​

Bojin, PhD, is Associate Director of the University of Iowa Research Foundation where her responsibilities include intellectual capital management – licensing, marketing, strategic partnering, and policy development.
