Conversation with a CLP: Georg Buchtela, PhD, MsC, CLP

Dr. Georg Buchtela heads his own boutique IP and licensing consultancy. He has supported Austrian universities for more than ten years to set up their current IP and license management schemes. His previous experience includes serving as a successful CEO of an Austrian-based research and consulting group. He has a passion for getting frontier technology to markets. Dr. Buchtela’s professional volunteer experience includes chairing multiple IP & licensing-related policy development groups of the European Union.

Pamela L. Cox, CLP, is Partner and Chair, IP Transactions Practice Group with Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP. Ms. Cox acts as a pathfinder, enabling clients to execute business strategies through intellectual property transactions. She is talented at unraveling complex deal structures and devising creative agreement solutions. Ms. Cox earned the CLP credential in 2008 and served on the CLP Board of Governors from 2014-2019 and as President and Chair in 2018.

Certified Licensing Professionals, Inc. (CLP) announced that 25 professionals who work in licensing, technology transfer and intellectual property management passed the Certified Licensing Professional exam and earned the credential during the 2020 spring testing window.

 

Conversation with a CLP: Pooja Bhatia, MBA, CLP, RTTP, Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer

Pooja Bhatia, MBA, CLP, RTTP, is Chief Manager, Innovation-Technology Transfer Office (i-TTO) of the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) in New Delhi, India. Ms. Bhatia heads the i-TTO, a regional tech transfer office set up at FITT with support from National Biopharma Mission, a joint project of Government of India and World Bank, with the mandate to cater to academia, startups and incubation centres.

 

Conversation with a CLP: Melissa Mail, PhD, University of Sydney

Melissa Mail, PhD, is Commercial Theme Leader at the University of Sydney where she oversees the University’s intellectual property assets and commercialization opportunities and provides specialist advice to complex issues in the areas of research commercialization, intellectual property and commercial negotiation. Dr. Mail initially earned the CLP credential in 2019 and is a member of the CLP Exam Development and Maintenance Committee, which is responsible for ongoing exam development efforts. In addition to taking on complex intellectual property issues, Dr. Mail has tackled the Alpe d’Huez, one of the Tour de France’s greatest and most iconic alpine climbs.

 

Conversation with a CLP: Mihaela D. Bojin, PhD, University of Iowa Research Foundation

Mihaela D. Bojin, PhD, is Associate Director of the University of Iowa Research Foundation where her responsibilities include intellectual capital management – licensing, marketing, strategic partnering, and policy development. Dr. Bojin initially earned the CLP credential in 2016 and is a member of the CLP Exam Development and Maintenance Committee, which is responsible for ongoing exam development efforts.

Rachel Cassidy, PhD, MBA is Vice President of Patent Licensing, GE Licensing. She has more than 15 years of licensing and business experience at GE, Becton Dickinson, and Johns Hopkins Technology Transfer. Rachel joined the CLP Board of Governors in 2018 to contribute her expertise to expanding the CLP program.

 

37 IP Professionals Earned the CLP Credential during the 2019 Testing Year

Certified Licensing Professionals, Inc. (CLP) announced that 37 professionals who work in licensing, technology transfer and intellectual property management passed the Certified Licensing Professional exam and earned the credential during the 2019 testing year, which included two testing windows during the months of April/May and October.
