2020 Fall Exam Administration Window Extended
In light of the COVID19 pandemic and its effects throughout the world, the CLP Board of Governors has extended the Fall examination window. Eligible candidates may take the certification exam between September 1 to November 30 through live-online proctoring (at the candidate's home or office) or at a Scantron test center (as availability allows).
The following revised timelines apply:
Application deadline: 7 business days prior to the desired test date or November 19, 2020, 11:59pm EST, whichever comes first
Scheduling deadline: 2 days prior to the desired testing appointment or November 27, 2020, 11:59pm EST, whichever comes first
Candidates may only schedule an exam appointment for the closest exam window. Candidates wishing to test September 1 - November 30 may schedule an exam appointment beginning in August.
Please contact CLP with any questions at email@example.com.
Scantron Coronavirus Update
The CLP testing partner, Scantron, is monitoring the impact of the coronavirus on testing centers across the globe. Scantron provides regular updates regarding affected testing sites on the Site Closures and Delays web page: https://www.scantron.com/site-closures-delays/. CLP candidates have two options to take the exam at a test site or using live, online proctoring (LOP). LOP does not require that you go to a testing center to take the exam.
Please note Scantron’s policy on surgical masks follows.
Scantron Policy on Surgical Masks
Normally, surgical masks are considered personal items and are not allowed into the exam room without prior approval. However, during this situation, each site must follow their local policies, procedures, and regulations. If masks are required, proctors are required to remain highly vigilant to ensure notes or other unauthorized aids are not hidden on or in the mask. In addition, if you feel that you need to bring a mask, please let us know and we will work with you and your exam program director to determine the best way to accommodate your needs.
If a candidate is permitted or required to wear a mask, the mask must remain on throughout the exam. If the candidate removes the mask, it must be treated as a personal item, visually inspected by the proctor, and stored with the candidate’s other personal belongings outside the exam room.
This situation is constantly evolving; therefore, our approaches and polices are under constant evaluation and could change as we all continue to deal with this unusual situation. Again, we appreciate your patience and your partnership as we do our best to meet your needs.
CLP Examination Administration
CLP, Inc. administers the certification exam in partnership with its testing vendor, Scantron Assessment (formerly Castle Worldwide). Candidates may schedule the exam appointment at a Scantron testing center or may schedule a live online-proctored (LOP) testing appointment and take the exam at a home or office location. Scantron will send detailed scheduling directions to candidates following application approval.
Read the following sections. Complete exam administration information and requirements are available in the Candidate Handbook.
Scantron Testing Center Administration
Scantron maintains testing centers throughout the world for the secure, proctored administration of the Certified Licensing Professional examination. For a complete list of testing centers, go to https://www.scantron.com/test-site-cities/. The lists presented on this site are complete lists of the vendor’s testing sites; however, not every site will be available during every testing window. Testing centers are subject to change without notice, and testing centers maintain individual dates and times of operations.
Once a candidate’s application is approved, Scantron will send a notice to schedule email that includes a link to the online scheduling system. The candidate will be able to view an updated listing of testing centers as well as the available testing appointments, including dates and timesusing the scheduling system. Morning and afternoon testing sessions are typically available. Testing appointments are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Accordingly, candidates are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible.
Candidates may test at Scantron testing centers outside of the United States and Canada for an additional fee of $125 (U.S. dollars) paid during the scheduling process by secure e-commerce and assessed for each testing attempt in an international test center. Testing centers are available in the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia, the Far East, and Australia. Information on international testing centers and methods for scheduling will be included in the notice to schedule email.
Live Online-Proctored (LOP) Administration
CLP offers live online-proctored (LOP) administrations through its testing vendor, Scantron Assessment. LOP test administration allows candidates to complete their examinations from their own computers via an internet connection at a time and place of their choosing. Testing sessions are available 24/7/365, based on seating availability. No international testing fee is assessed for LOP administrations.
Scantron uses its proprietary software, Scantron PASS™, to deliver examinations to candidates. Scantron partners with Examity for the online, real-time monitoring of testing candidates. The candidate’s computer must have webcam capability as well as a microphone and speakers, and the environment should be quiet to avoid distractions and to ensure that the online proctor can hear everything at the candidate’s location. There are technical requirements, such as an adequate internet connection, to ensure that the proctor can access the candidate’s computer and that the session can proceed without internet disruption. For LOP test administrations, candidates are responsible for ensuring their testing environment meets the minimum requirements to take the exam. View the LOP system requirements here and additional information on the Scantron web site.
