Recertification Central
Check your CLP Certificate to make sure you do not miss your renewal deadline. The CLP is valid for a three-year period from the time you earned the credential. If you became a CLP in 2009, this is the year to renew.
Recertification is an easy process. Follow this step-by-step guide.
Review the recertification policy online.
Earn at least 40 continuing education (CE) credits during the three-year cycle. The CLP Web site has a list of acceptable credits and the value assigned to each. Keep track of your CE credits using the online recertification application. Complete the online CLP Recertification application and submit payment. Recertification applications may be submitted up to one year prior to the deadline.
According to the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE), the trade association for the professional certification industry, the average recertification rate for organizations offering a credential is between 70 and 75 percent. In a recent survey, approximately 80 percent of current CLP-certified professionals indicated that they plan to renew their credential.
CLP encourages all candidates to review the frequently asked questions (FAQs) about the recertification process. If you need personal assistance, feel free to contact Cynthia Allen, CLP Certification Manager, by emailing callen@licensingcertification.org.
CLPs in the News
Do you want to share your accomplishments or announcements with fellow CLP certificants and colleagues? Celebrate a recent promotion, special designation, higher education degree, or other noteworthy achievement by sending a brief summary with your name and contact information to clpinfo@licensingcertification.org. Submissions are due by November 1, 2012 for inclusion in the next issue of CLP Connection scheduled for release in December 2012.
